13 June 2011 - PORTO PANORAMIC TOUR – Morning
Departure from the Hotel for a panoramical visit, which will give
a general ideal about Porto, pointing out the contrast between
the historical centre and the modern area of the town.
The tour will go through the most important monuments of the
town, such as the Palácio da Bolsa, Igreja de S. Francisco, Torre
dos Clérigos, Avenida da Boavista (modern area of town), Castelo
do Queijo – Forte São Francisco Xavier build in the XVII century.
The Tour includes a stop at the Ribeira quay, centre of “Porto
World Heritage”, where you can walk and enjoy the typical
streets of this part of the town.
Return to the Hotel by the River Douro banks till the mouth of the
river, Avenida do Brasil, Castelo do Queijo – Forte São Francisco
Xavier build in XVII century and Avenida de Boavista.

14 June 2011 - MINHO TOUR – Full Day
Around 09h30 departure from Porto for a full day visit of Minho.
First stop at Guimarães one of the most beautiful and historical
cities of Portugal, considered the birth of Portugal. Visit to the
Guimarães Castle, place full of history, where D. Afonso
Henriques was born on the XII century – 1st King of Portugal, we
will continue and pass by the Ducal Palace of Bragança followed
by a short stroll at the heart of the historical centre of this town
classified by Unesco as World Heritage.
The Tour proceed till Braga, town of the Archbishops. Visit to the
Cathedral and up to Bom Jesus de Braga – where we have a
splendif view over the town. Lunch.
In the afternoon, the tour will proceed to the town of Ponte de
Lima: place full of history, of art and natural beauty, rustic and
with a path historical-cultural since the castral period and
famous for its Manors. Walking visit to the Historical Centre of
the town and free time to stroll around.
Continuing to Viana do Castelo, a XII century town (founded
1258), where the modern town has grown near the river Lima.
We can visit the Cathedral and you can’t miss the neo-Byzantine
Church of Santa Luzia, located on top of the Santa Luzia hill with
a breathtaking view of Viana do Castelo, the river Lima estuary
and the sea. Return to Porto.
15 June 2011 - HISTORICAL PORTO TOUR – Full Day
Departure from the Hotel towards Ribeira – World Heritage. Visit to
the imposing Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace) with its
famous Arab Room; S. Francisco church – build on the XIII century,
with its Roman and Gothic style façade and its wonderful Baroque
interiors.
Walking visit through Ribeira and lunch at a typical Restaurant.
After lunch all on board for a cruise in a Rabelo Boat, we will
continue to D. Luís I bridge with its iron structure designed by
Théophile Seyrig, former Eiffel student, and visit to one of the Port
Wine cellars. The Tour will proceed to the Rua de Santa Catarina,
stop for a short walk and pause at the Café Majestic (tea
suggestion).
Return to the Hotel passing by the Torre dos Clérigos (Clerigo’s
Tower), Praça dos Leões (Lyons Square) and Boavista roundabout.
16 June 2011 - DOURO CRUISE – Full Day
07h00 Meeting at Campanhã Train Station and departure to Pinhão by train. Around 10h30 departure from Pinhão for a beautiful Douro river cruise, in the direction of Régua – Porto.
During this trip we can enjoy a unique landscape of rare beauty, including the wine terraces, small villages with red and white roofs in an harmony between man and nature. We must also mention the Dam’s of Bagaúste, Carrapatelo and Crestuma/Lever.
Lunch will be taken on board, as well as a glass of Port Wine served as an appetizer in the middle of the morning and before lunch. Arrival at Vila Nova Gaia Quay around 19h00.
